The Lobito Corridor region, connecting Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia, is emerging as one of Africa's most strategic economic regions. With critical minerals, abundant natural resources, agricultural potential, and improving infrastructure, the region is positioned to play a growing role in global supply chains, industrial development, and regional trade.
But its greatest promise goes beyond resources. It lies in its people, markets, and potential to become a model of inclusive development and shared prosperity.
OUR PURPOSE
The most important question we must ask is this: How can the Lobito Corridor create meaningful opportunities for the communities living in poverty along its path?
The corridor has the potential to become a cornerstone of regional development and a powerful engine for industrialization, trade, and market expansion. It can strengthen economic integration between Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia while reshaping how communities and businesses connect to regional and international markets.But this potential will not be realized on its own.
It requires real work on the ground that understands local realities, strengthens local entrepreneurship ecosystems, and expand access to opportunity. When ecosystems are weak, value creation does not scale. When markets are fragmented, opportunities remain out of reach. When communities living in extreme poverty are left behind, the same mistakes of the past are repeated and progress becomes uneven.
Long-term development is only possible when people and communities have the tools, capabilities, and support they need to participate in and benefit from growth.
This is the purpose of our economic development organization.We believe the region stands at a rare convergence of readiness, opportunity, and responsibility. Our organization exists to help the region harness its potential, empower communities, and support the development of an integrated, competitive, and human-centered regional economy that improves quality of life across the Lobito Corridor region.
